TWO New Songs Now Up!!
Hey Everyone!Just wanted to send out a quick reminder that not only is my new track “Hideaway” up (it’s much different than the commercial version- it’s actually very dark), but my other new track “All I Can Do Is Love” has just been been put up… hopefully this will be a nice preview for you guys so you can look forward to the whole album….. coming to you on June 10th!!!!!<!–more–>
Both these songs (and the whole process of working on this record in general) has been a real labor of love for me. (I’ve been very involved in all aspects of making this record: from writing the songs myself, to production to instrumentation, to singing all my own harmonies myself.) It is my greatest hope that that all the love and sweat and blood and tears will translate to all of you and you guys will ‘get’ what I’m trying to communicate here, and, ideally, be able to relate and connect to it on the deepest level possible… let me know what you guys think— all feedback is welcome!
Thanks again for all your support…Keep Spreading Peace, Kindness, & Awareness,-Alexa Ray ; )P.S. I’ve decided to NEVER google myself again- EVER!! Those bloggers are just way too hostile and cruel on there- OUCH!!!! I can’t help but wonder: “why do they feel so much hatred towards me?”, “why do they want to believe I’m just some trust-fund baby with no voice or talent of my own?”, “why do they feel the need to call me ‘homely’” and constantly compare me to my mother’s looks, when I have a completely different look and vibe than her?. I hope one day they realize that I do NOT use my parent’s connections AT ALL, and that I got the ‘Prell-Gig’ completely on my own, and I’m making this record on my own terms without “Daddy’s Help”. And that I am a real and genuine girl who wouldn’t want to hurt a fly, I just want to spread kindness, authenticity, and good music…. hey, and I have feelings too!!
YOU WERE WONDERFUL ON STERN AND I LOVE THE NOTICE ME SONG WAY HOT, FUN, CUTE, SEXY, BEST OF LUCK TO YOU AND WE WILL BUY THE RECORD.
Alexa- You are a tremendous talent. I cannot find any new albums for you on I tunes. When will your new songs be up?
Not everyone in this world deserves your best-Your critics don’t.
Tovah
Hearing you on Howard Stern was a treat. Your song has a sweet sound like Lilly Allen’s songs. Hearing your voice live, Wow, perfect pitch too!
Please don’t ever let the negative comments out there bother you. Every famous person, including Jesus Christ was hated by half the crowd. You are in good company.
Hey Alexa – you were great on Stern today. You have really good songs and video – keep’em comin !
Best wishes,
Ron
Alexa,
I just wanted to say “You go girl”. Don’t ever, EVER, let them get you down. You ARE a beautiful girl. You don’t ever need plastic surgery, so please don’t fall into that way of thinking. There are so many beautiful women out there that don’t look like your mom. You are beautiful……Look at your pics. Stay strong. Never let the public sway you from what you want to do in life. ALWAYS remember this. Be YOU.
Take Care. Lori Anderson
You did great on Howard. and I love your new single. I saw the video this morning on youtube but now it cant be found anywhere. Where can i see it again?
Also, just ignore the haters….who cares what they think.
I love your voice and your writing. You are beautiful and a true talent!
You got a ton of talent, beauty & You go girl! You appear to be one of a kind & very lucky to have 2 loving parents (I am a fan of them both and have been to 3 BillyJoel concerts). Keep it up!
Some people are mean and some people are not. The mean people are not happy, so want to bring everyone else down. I can’t believe what people say and write having never met the person they’re talking about.
I think you’re wonderful. I love Notice Me and I can’t wait to buy your album.
You just keep being the beautiful person you are and don’t Google yourself again!
Heard you on Howard, great personality and great voice can’t wait to get your cd. Grew up a fan of your fathers and it sounds like you are just as talanted.
What a great interview on Stern!! I love your voice and I cannot get your song Notice Me out of my head and it is a good thing. I am downloading it today and cannot wait for more. I want to see the vid but I cannot get it to pull up anywhere but I will keep trying.
You were really great on Howard Stern..love your new song…everyone who puts you down are just haters..and jealous…you go girl!
You were great on Howard! I’m really looking forward to your music career as your voice is pure beauty. You were blessed with tons of gifts and I hope you continue to share them with us. Best of luck to you and thanks for being brave enough to share.
Alexa, I have been a fan of your Dad and Mom for many years. I used to fish near their home on the point. You have the best of both in you and when I heard your song on Stern, I was amazed. I will buy the album and please keep them coming ! SCREW the Naysayers, follow your own muse !
Alexa,Dont worry bout what people say,it’s just jelosey(hope i spelled it right lol) ur great. Also heard you on Howard, you handled him fine You made us proud!!!! I think your just great, you are going to have a fine life in the music industry.Your going to have much young and old fans. You appeal so mature for such a young lady! I’m just crazy for notice me and I’m 53 yrs.of age and will come to your concerts. Much Luck for the futher though u don’t need it u have the talent. Jay D.
I just want to say that I have been a huge fan of your Father for many, many years. I heard you on Howard Stern and I was very impressed with your unique voice and talent. You are absolutely beautiful and you do not need to be a cookie cutter of your Mother. I really believe you will go very far in the music business if that is what you want. When I say this, I mean on your own merits too. I don’t think Billy will need to help you at all. You can do it on your own. Keep up the great work. I am considerably older than you but really found your music very refreshing. Don’t listen to what mean people say. Take care.
Hey Alexa, I love the song. Keep following the dream
Rock on. Love pj
I’ll admit, I’m a huge fan of your dad’s music, but you’ve definitely got pure talent in your own respect
I think you’re absolutely gorgeous and 100% right to think that it’s cruel for people to be comparing you to your parents- everyone deserves to be accredited for themselves (: Don’t listen to them- most of them are just jealous and angry that they don’t have half as much talent as you!
You go, girl!
x
Hi Alexa,
I’m real fan of your singing! You keep on going and stay strong! ^^
With lots of Love, Care and Compassion from Finland,
Peter
When does your new album come out? I am eagerly awaiting it.!!!!!!!!!!
You are right to not google yourself. You should never listen to what those people say. You are a beautiful strong girl who happens to come from some talented parents. Your dad’s album “Glass Houses” was the first record album I EVER bought on my own. I saved up my babysitting money to buy it when it came out. When I found out you were recording I started following you and listening to your music. I liked you for your own style and because I appreciated that it was clear you were doing this on your own.
You are worthy of so much. I hope you get the recognition you have coming to you. It’s so sad when those bloggers have nothing better to do. Just remember, those pathetic sacks have nothing. They are no better than maggots feeding on whatever they can find.
You are wonderful! You are beautiful! You are unique! To compare your looks to your mom is insane. You are stunning just in a different way.
Continued wonderful luck to you sweet girl.
Dawn
Hey Alexa! I just read your post about not Googling yourself again……remember that some people only feel good about themselves by putting others down. That’s how some people get their power. REMEMBER YOUR TRUTH!! Shut out the haters and surround yourself with positive people. You will NEVER please everyone and you don’t need to. YOU are ALEXA….you are unique, special and talented. Use your voice. There are a lot of us out here who love you and support you and your family. Many many {{HUGS}}!!
Alexa– don’t even listen to the haters! I just heard your new song “Notice Me,” and not only do you have a beautiful and unique voice, you are so pretty!! Where is Perez coming from? I would love to look like you! You are lovely and different in the best way possible. :] Look forward to hearing more of your music!
I think Notice Me, is very catchy. I also think you are beautiful and shouldn’t let anyone tell you otherwise! I think you have an amazing talent and should run with it!
Hi Alexa,
Saw you tonight at dinner (My husband, son and I were one table over and you admired our pizza), but it would have been too awkward on many levels! Good choice, you are incognito there (I won’t give the name). Wished we could have said hello as I admire your music very much.
Wow, I just heard “Notice Me” on the radio and I had to get it! What really surprised me, though, was finding all those videos of your live performances on youtube, and realizing that none of those songs are on iTunes yet! Your range is astounding; I heard and enjoyed lively country, angsty soul, diva pop, and the perky, jazzy number I just got. I’ve read you have an EP – could you put that and your other, older works online for me to get as well, pretty please?
Keep the lovely melodies coming!
-Nick
P.S. – If it’s any consolation, I heard your song in the car without introduction, and I didn’t make any connections between you and your family until I was halfway through your live performance videos; my interest was 100% due to your talent. If I had to guess, I’d say your critics will shut up around your second hit album, or maybe just after your less pop-y songs hit the airwaves
Alexa Ray,
You are a beautiful young women and a very talented one too! My 15 year old daughter and I sing your song “Notice Me” every morning on the way to school along with the radio. Some people are so full of hate in this world. Ignore them, they are just jealous. Go to St. Barth’s, my favorite place on earth and relax!!! You’ve earned it!
I’ve read the comments, I don’t know any haters. Alexa you rule, and everyone I know loves ya. Your voice is a gift n your beauty is flawless.
Alexa,
When your father married your mother, every man asked “How’d he get so lucky?”. I was but a young teen, but remember the news and conversations. When you decide to marry, every man will again ask, “How’d he get so lucky?”. I know I for one will.
I applaud your talent and beauty, but the fact that you are pursuing your career and self development independently deserves a standing ovation! Sadly, there are people in the world that think so poorly of themselves (some don’t even know it), they take it out on others to cause pain. Know yourself, believe in yourself, and travel your path as you know it with a smile.
I wish you true happiness and success.
Alexa Ray,
I agree with Nick (above) and all the other comments! Stay away from the tabloids near the grocery store check-outs, don’t ‘Google’ yourself, and don’t pay any attention to the ‘haters’ out there. Your voice, looks, style, and all are truly unique and BEAUTIFUL (and no, I’m not a guy trying to woo you, I’m a straight female admiring you)! The haters will have to recognize when your album hits start piling up. You have a bright future ahead of you, Alexa Ray, and don’t be discouraged by any obstacles in your way. YOU are the only one who knows how hard you’ve had to work to get to where you are. The ‘trust-fund baby’ say-ers and those of the like can put a sock in it and face the fact that your accomplishments are yours and yours alone! Yes, you have two talented, successful, and beautiful parents who have supported you every step of the way (I hope!), but contrary to how you may feel at times and what the haters say, you are not living in your parents’ shadows. You are a bright, shining start in your own right and YOUR music only proves this.
Keep on doing your thing, Alexa Ray, and we’ll all be here to support you! When you feel discouraged from the critics, just read the comments from all of your fans who love you and your music. We can’t wait for your album to drop!
Alexa,
Your music is wonderful and has a flavor and beauty all its own. You are going to do awesome!! Looking forward to your future work!! Ignore the ignorant and continue on your path, you have a bright career ahead of you.
Hi Alexa.
Who cares what ‘they’ say. Do what you do! Love what you do and keep sharing YOUR messsage with the world. You may have been born of the parents you have but you are you’ll always be your OWN person.
Lilac
Alexa WOW!
You music is Stunning!
You are stunning!
Talent looks and a stunning voice!
I am Stunned!
Go Alexa!
I must admit that I am a big fan of your dad and I first listened to you because of that. But I can honestly say that I really like your music and YOU ARE VERY talented. So let the critics say what they want, your music speaks for itself and it is great! Remember don’t take any shit from anybody!
Lex. I love the songs. I can’t wait for the full-length album to come out. Keep up the amazing work.
Ehh, screw the critics. Ben Folds just put out a new record. A line from the first track, Working Day:
Some guy on the ‘net thinks I suck . . . and he should know
He’s got his own blog
I was predisposed not to like your music, then found myself with “Notice Me” stuck in my head this morning in the car, kind of enjoying it. Write stuff you believe in, play the hell out of it at every chance you get, even when people take cheap shots at you, and chances are that things will be OK one way or another.
I FIRST HEARD YOUR SONG “NOTICE ME” ON XM RADIO & SAID TO MYSELF,I BET SHE IS A CUTTIE. MORE LIKE BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY WITH A GREAT SINGING VOICE.I CHECKED ON AMAZON FOR A CD ,ONLY MP3, & FOUND YOU ARE BILLY JOEL’S DAUGHTER.YOU HAVE HIS EYES & YOUR MOTHERS BEAUTY. I LIVED IN HUNTINGTON STATION , LONG ISLAND WHEN YOUR FATHER CRASH HIS MOTORCYCLE BACK IN THE 80′S.THANK GOD HE WAS OK BECAUSE THAT WOULD’VE BEEN A LOSS OF TALENT.I REMEMBER HIS SONG ABOUT YOU & THE BOAT NAMED “ALEXA RAY “ABOUT FISHING IN THE LONG ISLAND SOUND.YOU SHOULD BE PROUD YOU WENT & MADE A NAME FOR YOURSELF WITHOUT RIDING HIS COAT TAILS. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF YOU AS A GREAT TALENT EITHER WAY. JUST HEARING YOUR VOICE PROVED THAT TO ME BECAUSE I DIDN’T EVEN KNOWN YOU WERE RELATED WHEN I FIRST HEARD” NOTICE ME”.YOU DON’T DO THE JIGGLE FOR UPS DO YOU?
Miss Alexa…..
You are your own person, your own woman, your own identity. You’re a great singer, musician, and song writer.
I will say this, though….
The best “life” advice I ever received was from your Dad, Nassau Coliseum in ’82 (Live from Long Island) as he finished his encore and left the stage.
His parting words were, “Don’t take any sh*t from anybody”.
There you go.
You’re doing great, all my best to you. Keep it up.
Best-
DC
Loved your track Invisible. Girl you’ve got talent and chutzpah all your own, so don’t listen to those empty and shallow comments, and I’m 57 so rest assured that you’re reaching far beyond your wildest dreams…so keep on working, singing, playing and enjoying the ride because it’s YOUR SHOW and your time to shine, nobody else and keep up the spunk and the humor we need more fresh talent like yours. Sunshine and success to you from Puerto Rico with love and respect.
Bloggers are bullies who hide behind their computer screens. Don’t pay any attention to the haters. You have a great voice and your own style. Your Mom is beautiful but so are you. I wish you continued success !!!!
Alexa you are a darling woman! It was so nice to meet you a couple of years ago at Mohegan Sun. My brother and I lived across the street from your Dad in Hicksville. He’s been wonderful to us and we are so very proud of him! We loved meeting you and hearing you sing with your band. And I often enjoy listening to “Sketches”. I still play the piano for my own enjoyment – I took lessons from the same teacher as Billy. So I “think” I was “the girl next door” he talked about. Don’t listen to those horrible people on the internet. They are just envious and like to put people down for their own amusement. We were so impressed by you and we can’t wait to buy your album when it comes out. All the best of luck in the future. Much love – Jo and Jim Kleiner
